Actress Aymen Saleem, daughter of former Pakistani cricketer Saleem Yousuf, has officially joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Saleem cited former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto as her lifelong inspiration, praising Bhutto for being the first elected female leader of the Muslim world and for facing exile, imprisonment, and threats to her safety.
The actress announced her decision during a press conference in Karachi alongside PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, expressing her commitment to serving Pakistan and its people rather than simply entering politics. Saleem, who previously worked in investment banking and consulting in New York, hopes to use her education and professional experience to contribute to the country.
