Absconding rowdy-sheeter held with knife in Hyderabad
On Friday, Hyderabad police successfully apprehended a 36-year-old individual wanted in numerous criminal cases, seizing a sharp knife and an unauthorized motorcycle from him. Identified as Abed Bin Khaleed, also known as Abed and Lalla, the suspect is a mechanic currently residing in Allah Banda. Police revealed that Abed had been on the run in cases registered at Mangalhat and Asif Nagar police stations and held a non-bailable warrant for another incident.
He was captured at R.K. Pet Junction following credible information and surveillance efforts. A white Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 motorcycle, devoid of a registration number, and a sharp-edged knife were confiscated from him. ACP Kulsumpura V. Tirupathi disclosed that Abed has been entangled in over 35 criminal cases spanning three Hyderabad commissionerates since 2005, encompassing assault, robbery, extortion, attempt to murder, offenses under the Arms Act, and narcotics-related offenses.
Police noted that a rowdy sheet was issued against him at Mangalhat police station in 2008, currently maintained at Meerpet police station due to his frequent moves. The accused has also undergone preventive detention (PD) three times, twice by Mangalhat police and once by Shahinayathgunj police. Following his arrest, a new case was filed under the Arms Act, and Abed was presented before the court for judicial remand. Ongoing investigations are in progress.
