5 Best Netflix Christmas Movies, Ranked

For those seeking a festive mood, Netflix offers a curated collection of original Christmas movies to suit various tastes. Among the top five, "The Christmas Chronicles" stands out as an action-packed holiday tale, featuring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as Santa and Mrs. Claus. The movie follows siblings Kate and Teddy as they attempt to capture a Christmas photo, leading to an adventurous journey that results in a wild police chase with the jolly old saint.

With its blend of magic and humor, the film provides an entertaining experience suitable for the whole family.

Another notable film is the 2019 adaptation of "Let It Snow," a collection of intertwining short stories by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. The film captures the essence of teenage life during a snowy weekend, with diverse characters navigating personal challenges and growing connections. Critics praised the movie's 85% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, appreciating the emotional journeys each character undertakes.

However, audiences were also critical of the film, possibly due to its unconventional narrative structure.

For a more contemporary take, "Single All the Way" offers a contemporary rom-com that tackles love, friendship, and self-discovery during the holiday season. Starring Michael Urie and Philemon Chambers as Peter and Nick, the film follows two friends who find themselves single around the holidays. As Peter's roommate Nick hesitates to pretend to be in a relationship for his family, Peter's mother sets him up with her trainer.

The film's unique twist on the rom-com genre, coupled with its heartfelt moments and Jennifer Coolidge's comedic performance, adds to its appeal. Single All the Way earned a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Movie in 2022, further solidifying its place among the best Christmas films on Netflix.
