Ukraine returns seven more civilians from Russia, incl 90-year-old woman, mother with her child – Lubinets

On October 23, a data processing center operated by Russia's Federal Tax Service was struck in Gorodets, a town in the Nizhny Novgorod region, according to Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+. The attack resulted in injuries to three individuals. The Gorodets District administration reported that "drone debris" caused temporary disruptions to transportation in the city.

Mikhail Klimarev, the executive director of the Internet Protection Society, stated that the Federal Tax Service maintains two duplicate data centers: one located in Dubna, Moscow region, and another in Nizhny Novgorod. These centers store critical data such as tax records, civil registry information, legal entity registries, and potentially cadastral data.

Klimarev warned that targeting the Federal Tax Service's data centers could "bring down the entire tax system." He elaborated on the potential consequences, emphasizing the severe impact on civil life if vital information like land cadastre or real estate registry data were compromised. Ukraine's military has carried out similar attacks on data centers belonging to Yandex, Sberbank, and VK since mid-October.
