Trump says US may renew strikes against Iran, 'do another little Epic Fury'

Donald Trump, the US President, announced on Friday that the United States might conduct another military operation against Iran. This statement comes as the conflict between the two nations enters its eighth month and as the rising fuel prices impact the upcoming US midterm elections. During a rally in Florida, Trump declared that he might unleash another "little Epic Fury" regarding the ongoing war, without providing further details.

Earlier on Thursday, Trump had accused Iran of fabricating claims of attacks on oil tankers and naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to inflate oil prices.

According to The New York Times, both the US and Israeli militaries have developed strategies for renewed strikes that would start after the midterms. These plans are believed to be brief yet impactful, targeting Iranian energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and weapons. Officials quoted by the NYT mentioned that Washington and Jerusalem had come close to ordering fresh strikes earlier in the month before Trump ultimately decided against it.
