Personalities from different fields to be honoured to mark Bangarappa’s birth anniversary

The S. Bangarappa Vichara Vedike, a forum honoring the late Chief Minister S. Bangarappa, will recognize four individuals from diverse fields during a program in Sorab on Monday, October 26, in celebration of his birth anniversary. Karnataka Nataka Academy chairperson K.V. Nagarajamurthy, also the forum's convener, announced the honorees at a press conference in Shivamogga on Friday.

G.S. Jayadeva of Chamarajanagar will receive the 'Seva Bangara' award for outstanding social service, Nataraj Huliyar from literature with the 'Sahitya Bangara' award, Shekha Mastar of Kalaburagi for theatre services with the 'Ranga Bangara' award, and Bengaluru's B.C. Ramesh for sports achievements with the 'Kreeda Bangara' award.

Legislative Council Chairman Salim Ahmed will inaugurate the event, while Cooperation Minister Lakshman Savadi and Minor Irrigation Minister Ajay Dharam Singh will serve as chief guests. School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa will preside over the proceedings. Forum president Venugopala Nayak and others will participate, according to Nagarajamurthy.
