Okoya’s estranged son still receives support — Family

The family of Razaq Okoya, a billionaire businessman, has refuted claims made by his estranged son, Fatai, regarding their long-standing separation. The family stated in a recent statement that Fatai still receives financial support from his father. Accusing Fatai of taking private family matters to the public to garner sympathy and tarnish the reputation of other family members, the statement also disputed Fatai's claim of being Okoya's first child, asserting that he is actually the third child.

The family highlighted that Fatai had been estranged from his father and stopped visiting him before Okoya got married to his wife, Shade. They further noted that Fatai had received significant assistance from his father, including living in four flats provided by him in Ogunlana Surulere, and receiving payment for medical bills at times.

The family further mentioned that four influential friends intervened in the dispute over 40 years ago and led to Okoya agreeing to settle Fatai's requests. They emphasized the need for privacy in family matters and urged the public and media to respect their privacy.
