‘Maybe it is designated for a cassava plantation’ – GoldStars boss criticises Debibi Presby pitch
His remarks came after Gold Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to Debibi United over the weekend in their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League Matchday 7 fixture.
Bibiani GoldStars coach Petros Koukouras has slammed the pitch at Debibi Presby Park, describing it as more suited to cassava farming than football. This criticism came after Gold Stars lost 1-0 to Debibi United in a Group A clash of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League. Agyemang's goal just before halftime secured a vital win for the hosts, bringing them level on points with Gold Stars.
The victory also saw Debibi United exit the relegation zone. Post-match, Koukouras expressed his frustration, stating, "We cannot discuss football. I don’t think this is a pitch designated for football. Maybe it is designated for cassava plantation. I don’t have anything else to say." With the defeat, Gold Stars will look to face Heart of Lions on October 25, aiming to regain their momentum. Meanwhile, Debibi United will travel to face Bechem United in their next fixture on Matchday 8.
