A Kitui County Deputy County Assembly member, Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, has been arrested in Nairobi over allegations of phone thefts in the Central Business District, according to reports by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The MCA, representing Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in Kitui County, was apprehended by detectives from Kamukunji Police Station on Mfangano Street.
The DCI alleges that Musyoka is linked to three separate phone theft incidents that occurred in August and September of 2026. Intelligence gathered by investigators identified the suspect, and CCTV footage aided in the identification. Additionally, Musyoka is wanted in a separate case for failing to appear in court following his release on bond, with a criminal charge of theft in the Makadara Law Courts.
He remains in custody awaiting arraignment. The DCI emphasized that no individual is exempt from the law and vowed to continue pursuing suspects regardless of their social standing.
