CM Punjab Bans Unauthorized Police Escorts

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has prohibited the permanent assignment of police escorts to provincial cabinet members, advisers, special assistants and others without proper authorization. The Chief Minister's Office issued orders on October 22 stating that no police escort should be assigned permanently to provincial cabinet members, assembly members, government officials or private individuals without valid permission.

The directives also forbid individuals lacking legal entitlement from using flagstaffs or official flags on vehicles. The Provincial Police Officer, or Inspector General of Police, has been instructed to ensure immediate adherence to these guidelines.
