Augusto Delkáder: “In case of doubt, journalism”
With his arrival and for more than three decades, SER ceased to be an entertainment radio station to become a new one built from current affairs and journalism.
Augusto Delkáder, who died in Madrid on Friday, was remembered as a visionary. The writer first heard him speak in public in 1990 at a meeting of SER executives in Granada, where he was the new general director. Delkáder's diction was not perfect, but his message was clear, and he presented an inspiring vision for the company's future. At the time, the writer was a young director of one of SER's smaller stations.
