Architect charged with molesting 18-year-old boy in sauna [WATCH]

On October 18, Datuk Saiful Anuar Abdul Aziz, 61, faced charges of molesting an 18-year-old boy in a sauna room at a shopping mall near Taman Melawati. According to prosecutors, the architect, using criminal force, touched several parts of the victim's body with the intention to outrage their modesty. The alleged incident occurred at approximately 7:10pm in a gymnasium within the mall.

Saiful Anuar pleaded not guilty before magistrate Siti Nurul Ain Ariffin. The charge under Section 354 of the Penal Code carries a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, a fine or whipping upon conviction. The deputy public prosecutor M. Ramanathan Alias Ashwin proposed bail at RM15,000 with additional conditions, including passport surrender.

However, Saiful Anuar's lawyer, K. Theivaendran, argued for a lower bail amount, mentioning that his client had projects overseas and was not a flight risk. The court set bail at RM9,000 with one surety and ordered Saiful Anuar to surrender his passport, which he did, leading to his release at 11:10am. The next court mention is scheduled for November 26.
