Allegri says Roma clash will not 'make or break' Napoli's season
Napoli boss Massimiliano Allegri says his side's clash against Roma will not "make or break" the season as they continue their search for form in Serie A. Napoli's stuttering start to the campaign continued after they suffered their third defeat of the season in a 1-0 loss to Venezia last time out.
Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri has stated that his team's upcoming match against Roma will not make or break the season. Napoli's current struggles continue after their third loss of the season, a 1-0 defeat to Venezia. Roma, unbeaten in their opening seven matches, will face Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday.
Despite being nine points behind league leaders Inter Milan, Allegri emphasized that a fourth defeat could widen that gap. He described the match as important, but not decisive, and a good performance could help Napoli establish a positive run in the table. Allegri mentioned the return of key players like Scott McTominay, who had recently completed his recovery from open heart surgery, though he cautioned that the midfielder may not be ready for a full 90 minutes.
Allegri expressed confidence in his team's abilities and the necessity of managing player minutes effectively for optimal performance.
