Your first look at the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro batteries is here, sort of

A recent discovery in South Korea's Safety Korea certification database has revealed two batteries that are purported to power the highly anticipated Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro smartphones. According to earlier regulatory filings, the Galaxy S27 Ultra may be equipped with a 5,700mAh battery, while the S27 Pro may feature a 5,200mAh battery. However, these pre-production batteries have not been officially confirmed by Samsung, and the final specifications of the phones remain uncertain.

The batteries, which have surfaced as fresh certification photos, provide our first glimpse into the power sources that could be found in the Galaxy S27 series. The model numbers associated with the batteries are EB-BS958DBY and EB-BS957CBY, and they are linked to certification numbers YU10899-26034 and YU10899-26036, respectively. Both batteries are manufactured by Zhuhai CosMX Power Jinwan Subsidiary, a China-based company.

While rumors suggest that Samsung may make a battery breakthrough with the Galaxy S27 series, ranging from a massive 7,000mAh prototype for the Ultra to the potential use of silicon-carbon batteries, it appears that such ambitious claims may not come to fruition. Nevertheless, these newly discovered batteries offer a tantalizing window into the power capabilities of the upcoming devices, as Samsung prepares to unveil its latest offerings in the smartphone market.
