Mike Mignola Resurrects the Hellboy Universe for B.P.R.D.: Declassified

Mike Mignola is bringing back his iconic Hellboy universe for a new miniseries called B.P.R.D.: Declassified. The series, which will launch in February 2027, is cowritten by Mignola and Chris Roberson, with art by Mike Norton and colors by Dave Stewart. A variant cover for the first issue will be by Gabriel Hardman.

Fans last saw Susan Xiang, a psychic B.P.R.D. agent, in 2025's The Shadow of the Golden Crane, where she investigated her family's connection to the mysterious Golden Crane Society. Now, she teams up with astral projecting B.P.R.D. agent Victor Koestler for an otherworldly missing person investigation. Henry Rouch, who was working on a classified government project overseas, mysteriously vanished, prompting the B.P.R.D. to get involved. However, the agents soon realize that there's much more to this case than meets the eye.

Roberson explained that B.P.R.D.: Declassified offers a chance to delve into the occult cold war going on in the shadows, revealing that the agents of the B.P.R.D. aren't the only players in the game. The stakes are higher than ever before for Susan Xiang and her team. B.P.R.D.: Declassified #1 is set to release on February 17, and can be preordered at local comic shops.
