Garmin CIRQA adds vibration alerts for calls and texts in latest update
The change is part of firmware update version 4.20.
Garmin has recently updated its CIRQA Smart Band with vibration alerts for incoming calls and text messages. The feature was requested by CIRQA customers on Garmin's forums. The latest firmware update 4.20 brings three new features to the screenless fitness tracker. With screenless fitness trackers growing in popularity, their ability to not constantly distract users is a notable advantage.
Smartwatches such as the Fitbit Air, WHOOP, and similar devices remain fitness-focused and do not notify wearers about incoming phone calls and text messages. However, Garmin's CIRQA Smart Band was previously without this capability. The firmware update details, found in the changelog for version 3.0 to 4.0, mention "Support vibration for smart notifications/incoming calls."
Despite this, the FAQ page for CIRQA still states, "The CIRQA smart band does not vibrate for text messages, phone calls, or other smartphone notifications."
