Actor and Comedian Kwame Dzokoto dies at 51

Seth Kwame Dzokoto, a renowned Ghanaian actor, comedian, and media personality, passed away on October 22, 2026. Widely recognized for his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura, Dzokoto died after collapsing during a radio show at Owass Radio in Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality. He was rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Dzokoto, who belonged to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was 51 years old. His death marks the loss of a familiar face in Ghanaian entertainment, having built a career that spanned television, radio broadcasting, comedy, and voice-over work. Dzokoto rose to fame through his role in Efiewura, where his performance as Judge Koboo solidified his presence in Ghanaian homes.

His versatile talents extended to television presenting, exemplified by his work on TV3's Edziban, which showcased Ghanaian cuisine and local food culture. Additionally, Dzokoto had a career in radio with stations such as Skyy Power FM and Hello FM, further establishing him as a recognizable voice. Dzokoto's career reflected his diverse interests within the media industry, ranging from comedy and acting to presenting and broadcasting.

Outside of entertainment, he ventured into politics under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election. Though he did not secure a parliamentary seat, his political engagement demonstrated his commitment to public affairs and national development.
