A second chance for Coco the sassy corgi
Aaron Lau and Yin Wen Choi adopted Coco in June 2025 after the young dog was given up by her previous owner.
Coco the corgi found her forever home in 2025 after being given up by her previous owner due to a condominium's no-pet policy. Yin Wen Choi, who always wanted a corgi, adopted Coco and her partner Aaron Lau discovered her at a Facebook adoption post. Upon adopting Coco, they learned she had large kidney and gallbladder stones, which the vet attributed to her previous living conditions.
With proper treatment, Coco recovered, but adjusting to her new home posed challenges like mild separation anxiety and reactivity towards other dogs during walks. The couple underwent training, and Coco improved, becoming composed about 90% of the time. Coco's sassiness includes a signature side-eye, a picky eating habit, and occasional toileting issues when left alone.
Despite these quirks, Coco has brought immense comfort and companionship to the couple, leading them to embrace adoption regardless of breed, age, or previous challenges.
