2. Bundesliga preview: SV Darmstadt 98 vs. FC St. Pauli

In the second matchday of the 2026/27 season, SV Darmstadt 98 will host FC St. Pauli at their home ground. Darmstadt, currently under pressure, are seeking to bounce back from a recent 4-0 defeat to Karlsruher SC, while St. Pauli aim to secure their first away victory of the campaign following a 1-1 draw with Hannover 96. Darmstadt must address their defensive issues and increase their consistency after a challenging start to the season.

On the other hand, St. Pauli will be looking to capitalize on their pace in the final third and maintain their unbeaten away record, with Eric Smith playing a crucial role in building play from the back. Both managers are expected to make changes to their starting lineups, with several players expected to return to the pitch. The match will provide an intriguing test for both sides, with the home advantage potentially giving Darmstadt the upper hand, but St. Pauli determined to secure a much-needed win away from home.
