(URGENT) N. Korea to resume propaganda loudspeaker broadcasts toward S. Korea: N.K. leader's sister
(END)
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong, announced on Wednesday that Pyongyang will resume propaganda broadcasts via loudspeakers aimed at South Korea later this month, according to state media reports. During a statement released by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim stated that her country's tactical hunting teams are relocating, and by October, the loudspeakers for psychological warfare against the Republic of Korea (ROK) will be operational along the entire border.
Describing the move as the "most just measure" and an "appropriate response," Kim emphasized that she personally inspected key positions along the southern border with Pak Jong-chon, an adviser to North Korea's Ministry of National Defense, to assess progress on a project to strengthen the border defenses. Kim corrected an earlier KCNA report that had mistakenly stated the inspection occurred on Tuesday.
The North Korean military is undertaking a critical and significant endeavor in response to the enemy's persistent threats, Kim added.
