UP Shocker: Woman, Lover Killed Husband, Dumped Body In Iron Box On Highway In Unnao; 3 Arrested

In Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, police have solved a murder mystery after finding a man's body inside a large iron box on the Raebareli-Unnao Highway within 12 hours of its discovery. The victim, Sonu, was allegedly killed by his wife, Neha Rawat, with assistance from their neighbor, Jitendra Singh, also known as Rahul.

The police claim Neha and Jitendra attacked Sonu with a stone grinder during the night of October 19-20. They subsequently smothered him with a blanket and placed his body inside an iron box, which was later abandoned beside the highway near Health Hospital in Sadar Kotwali area on Tuesday night. The box was discovered by police around 10 pm on October 20 after receiving information about a suspicious object on the roadside.

Five separate police teams were assembled to investigate the murder. CCTV footage and number plate recognition cameras helped trace the iron box to its registered owner, Rajesh Gupta. Neha, Jitendra, and a juvenile, Tauheed, have been arrested, while the role of Rajesh as the loader owner and driver is still under investigation.

Police recovered the murder weapon, the iron box, the loader, and Rs 8,200 from the accused. The investigators suspect domestic disputes, including frequent arguments, substance abuse, and physical altercations between Sonu and Neha, as the primary cause of the alleged murder.
