Rapid KL To Conduct Pilot Project For Fixed-Route Feeder Vans Starting 24 October

Rapid KL has announced plans to conduct a three-month pilot project for fixed-route feeder buses starting from 24 October. This initiative aims to bolster public transport connectivity in Kuala Lumpur and aligns with the government's goal of increasing public transport ridership through an integrated, accessible, and sustainable mobility system.

During the pilot, passengers will be charged a flat fare of RM1 per trip, with payment options available through debit and credit cards, Touch ‘n Go cards, and MyRapid Concession Cards (with a 50% discount for holders). Rapid Mesra pass holders will not incur any charges.

The buses will operate at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes, with designated stops and stations for boarding without the need for pre-booking via the Rapid On-Demand app. However, two Rapid KL On-Demand service zones will be suspended for the first phase: T400B, connecting Bandar Tun Razak to Taman Midah, and T512B, running from Precinct 11 to Putrajaya Sentral.

Syahrul Azmir Ahmad Zaki, CEO of Rapid Bus, emphasized that this pilot project is part of Rapid KL's ongoing efforts to improve public transport ridership. The evaluation of the operational model, focusing on fixed routes and schedules, aims to enhance first- and last-mile connectivity and improve community access to nearby rail stations. The findings gathered during the pilot will serve as a reference for considering future service enhancements.
