PSG winger Kvaratskhelia’s season in doubt after torn ACL

Paris Saint-Germain's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia faces an uncertain future after tearing his ACL during a Champions League match against Barcelona. The 25-year-old Georgian winger is set to undergo surgery in the coming days, and his return to action could be as far as nine months away. Kvaratskhelia, who plays a crucial role in PSG's attacking lineup, was substituted just before the hour mark in the 4-2 victory, having collapsed to the ground without any apparent contact.

His absence will be felt, especially with fellow winger Ousmane Dembele also sidelined for several weeks due to a thigh injury. Dembele, the current Ballon d'Or holder, is one of the favorites for this prestigious award, which will be announced on Monday. In Dembele's place, PSG will have to rely on summer signings Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts, and Ferran Torres.

The team will face Ligue 1 leaders Lyon on Sunday, followed by their next Champions League fixture against Villarreal on November 3.
