Residents and visitors are being offered a unique opportunity to explore the historic streets of Cuevas del Almanzora through a photography walk next month. The "Cuevas con mirada" event aims to showcase the town's architectural heritage and architectural details that can easily be overlooked during a regular stroll. Taking place on Saturday, November 7, the walk will start at 11:00 AM from the Marques de los Velez Castle, with no need for specialist equipment.
Participants can bring a camera or use their mobile phone to capture images of the old streets, Iglesia de la Encarnacion, the castle, and historic mansion facades. The route will also include visits to the town's old public wash houses. A heritage-focused photographer will guide the participants, helping them identify features such as traditional ironwork, decorative tiles, coats of arms, and evidence of Cuevas del Almanzora's mining history.
The event is part of the European Heritage Days program, which encourages Andalucia residents to explore their local history and architecture in a new light. During the walk, the best photographs will be featured in a digital exhibition, allowing participants to share their unique perspectives of Cuevas del Almanzora and the hidden architectural details they discovered along the way.
To register, interested individuals should contact the Cuevas del Almanzora Tourist Office via phone (+34) 639 57 56 31 or email turismo@cuevasdelalmanzora.es.
