Otti awards scholarships to 81 undergraduates

Abia State Governor Alex Otti announced the selection of 81 new scholarship beneficiaries for the Alex Otti Foundation, citing a merit-based selection process with no human intervention based on political affiliation or background. The scholarship award has been increased from N250,000 to N350,000 annually to match current economic realities, and the new amount will apply to other cohorts still in school.

Otti emphasized that six of the six new beneficiaries graduated with First Class honors, challenging the recipients to emulate their achievements and strive for excellence in their future professions. The Alex Otti Foundation, established in 2009 and modeled after the United Kingdom's Chevening Scholarship, has so far supported 302 scholars through its rigorous selection process from over 5,000 applicants.
