Ofankor: 33-year-old man dies after alleged stabbing by girlfriend, 19

A 19-year-old woman, Emmanuella Asante, has been accused of stabbing her 33-year-old boyfriend, Enoch Abrokwa, to death in Ofankor Barrier, Accra. The incident allegedly occurred during an argument at the deceased's business premises on October 14, 2026. According to the Tesano Divisional Police Command, the two engaged in a disagreement on Friday, October 20, 2026, which escalated, resulting in the accused using a shard of broken glass to stab the deceased in the chest.

The victim was taken to Taifa-Burkina Hospital and subsequently referred to Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep abdominal wound. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the same day. Asante was apprehended on October 10, 2026, and handed over to the police by the victim's companions. She has confessed to the stabbing and is currently in police custody.

Asante appeared in court and was remanded into police custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for November 3, 2026. The Accra Regional Police Command has emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and advised the public to cooperate with the authorities during the ongoing investigation.
