Obsession Fans Are Not Happy with Nikki Freeman's Fortnite Skin
Nikki from Obsession now has her own skin in Fortnite, which caused some turmoil among gamers and movie fans.
A group of Fortnite players are protesting the game's decision to include a skin of Obsession's Nikki Freeman, played by actress Inde Navarrette. Epic Games announced that Nikki Freeman would be featured in a special collaboration with Navarrette on October 20. While Obsession's Nikki is a popular Halloween costume, her role as a rape victim is causing some controversy.
Players argue that using her for entertainment is exploitative. The skin includes a controversial emote and retelling of the scene where Nikki is possessed. Some fans are calling for a boycott of Fortnite, but others maintain that the character is fictional and should still be represented. This isn't the first time Nikki's representation has sparked debate; a previous appearance at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights also drew criticism.
