Man United in a coma: Como give Carrick a football lesson as Bruno Fernandes questions his tactics

Manchester United suffered a devastating 4-1 defeat against Como, marking one of their most embarrassing performances in Champions League history. The Italian side's beautiful football, intelligent movement, and relentless pressing left United looking clueless both with and without the ball.

Nico Paz, a 22-year-old Argentine player for Como, stood out with two goals, an assist, and a man of the match performance, displaying complete control on the pitch. However, the narrative was not solely focused on Paz; the entire Como team showcased a clear identity and confidence, a stark contrast to the lost and disoriented United.

United captain Bruno Fernandes seemed to question Michael Carrick's tactical approach, suggesting that not pressing aggressively allowed Como to gain confidence. Fernandes stated that sometimes taking risks and pressing high could be uncomfortable for the opponents. Carrick responded by emphasizing that a team must execute its tactics, running forward, and back to secure victory.

The contrasting team performances highlighted the stark differences between the two clubs. Como had a clear identity, responsibilities understood, and played with confidence, while United appeared lost and directionless. Carrick's team had only won twice all season, and they were now without a victory in seven matches.

United's situation is concerning, as they are at risk of entering a cycle of manager changes and failure, similar to past experiences. With no clear identity, the club continues to struggle in football matches and appears to be in a state of despair. The worry is that nobody knows how to revive this once-promising team, leaving them seemingly in a state of limbo.
