Kashmir Chowk Underpass to Open Soon

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has expressed optimism that Islamabad's Kashmir Chowk Underpass will be operational within the coming 10 days, as the 12th day of construction commenced. Addressing reporters at the site, Naqvi reported the Capital Development Authority (CDA), contractors and allied teams were diligently working around the clock to expedite the project.

"Today marks the 12th day since the construction of the Kashmir Underpass commenced. The progress is evident, and we intend to open it to traffic within the next 10 days," he stated. Naqvi confirmed that authorities had maintained uninterrupted construction without halting traffic or imposing significant diversions, though commuters might have faced minor inconveniences.

He praised the coordination between the CDA and traffic police for ensuring the seamless flow of vehicles throughout the work. The underpass is set to alleviate congestion for vehicles commuting from diverse parts of Pakistan to Murree. Naqvi confirmed that the route beyond the junction was already cleared, which would aid in maintaining a smoother traffic flow.

He affirmed that once construction concludes, the underpass will be opened, and he plans to invite Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the inauguration. Naqvi also voiced his hope that this project would be among Pakistan's quickest completed infrastructure schemes.
