Jennifer Lopez to headline F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concert

The MotoGP Teams Association has declared its intention to proceed with the Qatar Grand Prix, scheduled for November 6-8, despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Originally set for April, the race was postponed due to the war in Iran. While European countries advise citizens to postpone travel to Qatar, the championship promoter, MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, believes assurances from Qatari authorities and the local promoter are sufficient for ensuring the event's safety.

The race will be the third part of a triple-header, following the Australian Grand Prix and Malaysian round. With 15 days left before setup at the Lusail circuit, the International Road-Racing Teams Association has emailed all teams, emphasizing the promoter's contingency plan and their ongoing communication with embassies. No embassy has advised against attending.

Despite initial opposition from major manufacturers Yamaha and Honda, the teams have consistently stated their intent to hold the race. While the majority of riders prefer to avoid racing in a conflict zone, a quarter supports proceeding with the event. The riders' stance will be addressed at the upcoming meeting in Phillip Island, with current CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta acknowledging the Qatari government's assurances that Hamad International Airport operates normally and Formula 1 will host events there on November 27-29.
