FCT secured for Tinubu in 2027 - Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, expressed certainty on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu would receive backing in the 2027 presidential election within the territory. During a meeting with political stakeholders from the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, Wike emphasized the importance of political unity for the capital's development despite differences.

The gathering was a moment of great satisfaction for Wike, who highlighted the APC Presidential Campaign Council's coordination efforts in the FCT and Rivers State. He pointed out Tinubu's administration's accomplishments, such as advancing the Apo-Karshi Road project after a 16-year delay and fostering inclusivity through the establishment of women and youth secretariats and promoting career civil servants to higher ranks.

Wike defended the removal of the fuel subsidy, arguing that previous administrations hesitated to make the controversial decision. He acknowledged the sacrifices that lay ahead to rectify the situation. Furthermore, Wike revealed that the campaign council would soon be inaugurated, and preparations for the 2027 election were already underway.

He encouraged voters to cast their votes on election day with their Permanent Voter Cards, supporting Tinubu and the party's candidates.
