Exclusive-US preparing to issue ordered departure of some personnel from Gulf embassies - US officials

The U.S. State Department ordered the departure of nonemergency government employees and their family members from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, according to The Hill.

Al-Monitor reports that the State Department is preparing to issue an ordered departure for certain personnel and family members from U.S. embassies throughout the Gulf region. Two U.S. officials told Al-Monitor the move is due to a possible resumption of hostilities, specifically regarding Iran-aligned Houthi militia in Yemen. Following recent deadly strikes including one on Riyadh's airport, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh issued a security alert on Wednesday concerning possible further attacks by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia.
