Broda Shaggi opens up on trauma, recovery after stray bullet injury

Nigerian Nollywood actor and comedian Samuel Perry, widely recognized as Broda Shaggi, recently shared his emotional and physical struggles following a stray bullet injury that sidelined him from social media and acting for several months. During a YouTube video released on his channel, Shaggi recounted the incident that left him uncertain about his future in the entertainment industry and terrified that his fans might forget him during his prolonged absence.

The comedian described how the shooting occurred in March 2026 while he was filming a comedy skit on the Sango-Ota bridge in Nigeria. He recalled being unconscious upon reaching the first hospital and praying for the doctors and nurses to inform him that he would survive. Shaggi's injury raised concerns about his ability to continue his career, particularly as dancing, singing, and other physical performances were integral to his work.

He admitted to feeling anxious about losing his audience and relevance while away from the industry for a significant period. Despite his condition, Shaggi maintained a busy work schedule, writing, shooting, and producing music during his hospitalization. However, watching his colleagues create content and entertain audiences while he was unable to join them sometimes left him emotional.

After undergoing surgery in Nigeria, Shaggi sought further treatment and physiotherapy in Dubai, where his recovery improved significantly following another operation. He was able to stand with support on the second day and walk with crutches by the third day. Despite the challenges, Shaggi expressed gratitude for surviving the shooting, emphasizing that it was a second chance at life.

He assured his fans that he was preparing to return with new projects, thanking them for their support.
