The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the 2027 Delta State governorship election, Chris Iyovwaye, has mourned the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, describing him as a statesman whose legacy will endure. Uduaghan, who passed away at the age of 71 after a brief illness, served as the Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
Iyovwaye, in a statement made available to PUNCH Online, described Uduaghan as a respected elder brother with whom he shared a personal relationship built on mutual respect over the years. Uduaghan's administration is remembered for the Delta Beyond Oil initiatives, which aimed to diversify the state's economy away from oil dependency.
