Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has criticized President Bola Tinubu for his handling of the recent removal of Nigeria's fuel subsidy. Atiku claims Tinubu is out of touch with the struggles of Nigerians who are facing skyrocketing transport costs and the increasing price of essential goods following the subsidy removal.
The ADC presidential campaign spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, conveyed Atiku's message in a statement, stating that Tinubu is "the Egypt Nigerians are desperate to escape." Atiku went on to argue that the government should provide targeted support for Nigerian-produced fuels, rather than leaving citizens to bear the brunt of the high fuel prices.
