Missing alt vs empty alt: a one-minute image check for landing pages

Landing pages are full of images: hero shots, icons, dividers, screenshots. Two different mistakes with alt are easy to make, and a quick look at the source finds both.

• Landing pages often contain various types of images like hero shots and icons.
• Alt text mistakes can be identified by quickly checking the page source for img tags.
• Use descriptive alt for informative images, empty alt for purely decorative images.
