Sundowns officially announce Maku signing
'Mamelodi Sundowns are pleased to announce the signing of Lazola Maku,' the club wrote on Tuesday morning.
Mamelodi Sundowns have officially announced the signing of youth international Lazola Maku, putting an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the transfer. The 19-year-old midfielder, whose contract had expired with Siwelele last season, joined the African champions after a successful trial period with several Austrian clubs. Maku, who recently captained South Africa's Under-20 team to victory at the COSAFA Cup in Mozambique, will now join the star-studded squad led by Miguel Cardoso.
The Brazilian team recently secured the MTN8 and FIFA African-Asian Pacific Cup titles this season. Sundowns expressed their excitement about the new signing, welcoming Maku to Bafana Ba Style with the promise of a proper introduction.
