New trailer for Slayground amps up the tension
After posting a pretty rockin' teaser and a countdown to October 20 on the site runlikehell.com (hey, that's today!), A24 has released a full trailer for Jeremy Saulnier's Slayground .
After a highly anticipated teaser, A24 has unveiled the full trailer for Slayground, set to premiere on October 20. This upcoming film, helmed by director Jeremy Saulnier, is a spin-off to his 2024 horror-comedy Rebel Ridge, teaming up with stars Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson. The trailer suggests that Slayground embraces the director's signature Halloween/slasher style, reminiscent of Murder Party from 2007, co-starring Macon Blair.
Cory Michael Smith stars as Michael, navigating a hypnotic suggestion from acquaintance Imogen Poots to recall "October '24," a date tied to the "Hangman murders," a mass-casualty event that occurred during the Samhain season in a small community. Michael, seemingly implicated in those murders, also played a role in the closure of the Slayground, an interactive haunting attraction plagued by a serial killer.
The cast further includes Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, James Badge Dale, Stephen Root, Imogen Poots, Matty Matheson, and Young Mazino. The trailer skillfully maintains suspense without revealing the entire plot, hinting at Michael's connection to the Hangman murders and the dark history of the Slayground.
