Mumbai: Police Officer Allegedly Assaulted Over Photos Of Garbage Bin Dispute In Vikhroli; Case Against Corporator’s Son’s Aide

Mumbai, 20th October 2026: A police officer was reportedly manhandled in Vikhroli following a dispute over photos he took of a garbage bin altercation. The Parksite police have lodged a case against Vaibhav Mande, a man said to be associated with Imran Shaikh, son of sitting corporator Sakina Shaikh, and two to three unidentified individuals.

Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Ravindr Wagheeram More, 55, who has been posted with Special Branch-01 in Zone VII since September 2025, was on patrol duty when he encountered the crowd near Beat No. 4 police chowky on Road No. 1. The FIR claims More came across around 20 to 25 people gathered at the spot and found two or three individuals arguing over a garbage bin.

Imran Shaikh, son of the corporator, was also present at the scene. Upon noticing More taking photographs with his mobile phone, accused Vaibhav Mande prompted the officer to delete them, allegedly verbally abusing him. Despite More identifying himself as a Special Branch officer and showing his ID, Mande and others allegedly assaulted him, pushing him and striking him on the back.

Upon verification, Shaikh requested More to leave the spot, which the officer did and informed his superiors about the incident. Further investigation is now underway.
