Massimiliano Allegri reveals crunch talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis amid difficult start ahead of Bodo/Glimt match
Massimiliano Allegri has opened up about his ongoing dialogue with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis as the Italian tactician fights to save his job at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The Partenopei have endured a nightmare start to the season, leaving the manager’s position under intense scrutiny ahead of a pivotal European night.
Massimiliano Allegri, the Napoli coach, is under pressure after a string of poor results that have left fans restless. The situation worsened with a 1-0 loss to Venezia, fueling rumors about his job security. Allegri confirmed regular contact with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, but stressed that discussions about his position are unproductive.
The manager is focused on performance rather than public debates, demanding immediate European response. He sees the Champions League as an opportunity to reset the narrative and build momentum before a crucial match against Roma. Despite a recent dip in form, Allegri refuses to panic or abandon his principles, insisting on squad rotation and collective growth.
Napoli's biggest worry heading into the Bodo/Glimt fixture is their defensive frailties, which have allowed opponents to find the net easily.
