Lions to start QB Salter vs. Blue Bombers
The B.C. Lions will start Kaidon Salter at quarterback for their regular-season finale against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday.
The B.C. Lions have named Kaidon Salter as their starting quarterback for their season finale against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Head coach Buck Pierce has decided to give regular starter Nathan Rourke the night off. The Lions currently hold second place in the CFL's West Division, securing their spot in the divisional semifinal on October 31st.
Winnipeg, on the other hand, needs a win to earn a playoff spot. Nathan Rourke, the Lions' 28-year-old Canadian quarterback, has thrown for 4,614 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions this season, along with rushing for 356 yards. Salter, the 23-year-old American, made his debut start for the Lions last month, leading them to a 35-19 victory in Winnipeg.
He also came in for Rourke in the second half of the Lions' 32-13 loss to the Stampeders in Calgary.
