Jeremy Saulnier’s ‘Slayground’ Gets Fright-Filled First Trailer

Jeremy Saulnier's upcoming horror film, "Slayground," is set to release on January 29, 2027, under the banner of A24. The trailer, released recently, provides more insight into the movie's plot and cast. The story revolves around a recently released convict, portrayed by Cory Michael Smith, who finds refuge in the very haunted house he once worked in, leading to a series of terrifying events.

Notable co-stars include Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Stanley Simons, Young Mazino, Stephen Root, and Matty Matheson, along with Saulnier's regular collaborators James Badge Dale and Imogen Poots. The teaser for the film, attached to Zach Cregger's "Resident Evil," hinted at a drop date of "this fall," which led to speculation about a Halloween release.

However, the official trailer confirms the actual release date. Saulnier's previous film, "Rebel Ridge," also released in the fall of 2024, was a critical and commercial success at Netflix, winning an Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie. Despite a challenging production period that included actor John Boyega's exit, the film was eventually released and well-received. "Slayground" is scheduled to be A24's latest offering on January 29, 2027.
