Day after 3 Meiteis were gunned down, Kuki-Zo man killed in Manipur

A Kuki-Zo man was killed and another escaped unharmed in a shooting incident in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, just a day after three Meitei men were killed in a similar attack. The deceased, Paolen Khongsai, was collecting bamboo shoots when he was shot dead by armed miscreants, while the survivor, Laldenga, sustained injuries. The attacks raise concerns of renewed violence between the Kuki and Meitei communities, following a period of relative calm.

The Chief Minister has convened a meeting with political leaders to address the law-and-order situation in the state.
