Barzan Holdings introduced a series of 13 locally produced defense technologies at Milipol Qatar 2026, demonstrating Qatar's commitment to self-reliance in defense production. The new capabilities encompass five distinct areas: autonomous systems, electronic warfare, communications, firearms, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Ahmad al-Mulla, Barzan Holdings' commercial relationship manager, explained that the company manufactures and manages these technologies within Qatar, acting as a master integrator for customized specifications.
The product suite features two communication and cybersecurity systems, including Secure Comms VPN and Secure Comms CHAT. In unmanned aerial systems, Barzan unveiled five drones designed for tactical missions, such as the ISR – VTOL 400, ISR Quadcopter – H-Silent, and three FPV options: FPV Drone – 7”, FPV Drone – 10”, and FPV Drone – 15”.
These drones are equipped with versatile payloads that can be easily swapped, enabling the systems to perform various tasks like surveillance, intelligence gathering, kamikaze operations, or interception. For maritime security, Barzan showcased two autonomous surface vessels: the Rasid USV and the Barzan Conversion Solution Coastguard USV.
The latter represents a groundbreaking local project developed in partnership with Qatar's Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, Barzan introduced three light arms: the BIG556 – 4.5”, BIG556 – 7”, and Q1 Corner rifles. Al-Mulla emphasized that all these projects bolster domestic manufacturing while meeting the strategic requirements of the Ministry of Interior.
