Ana Navarro Snaps at ‘The View’ Co-Hosts for Joking About Trump Dinner: ‘This Is Not Funny’
"No way in hell I would want to break bread or be in the same room with a man whose administration is hunting Latinos,” she says The post Ana Navarro Snaps at ‘The View’ Co-Hosts for Joking About Trump Dinner: ‘This Is Not Funny’ appeared first on TheWrap .
On Tuesday, Ana Navarro reacted strongly to her co-hosts on "The View" making jokes about attending a dinner hosted by Donald Trump. The conversation arose after various public figures, such as Stephen A. Smith, Kid Rock, and Bill Maher, had dined with the president. Several ABC hosts considered whether they would accept an invitation to dine with Trump.
Ana Navarro, who had previously worked for Trump's communications team, stated she would entertain the invitation, but co-host Sara Haines responded by joking that they wouldn't have a "Lady and the Tramp"-style dinner together if she received an invite. This prompted Navarro to firmly state, "This is not funny!" She emphasized that Trump's administration is targeting Latinos, having seen a 50-point drop in support among that demographic, and that she would vote against him and campaign against him.
Haines and Navarro exchanged heated words, with Haines citing the need for policy changes through face-to-face discussions, and Navarro refusing to "normalize" Trump or give him the time of day. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg intervened to end the argument as the mid-term elections approached.
