Zelensky should get ‘somebody else’ to negotiate to end Ukraine war, Trump says

According to a report by Clash, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that someone other than President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should handle negotiations with Russia regarding Ukraine's situation. This came after Trump expressed his belief that a resolution to the conflict should have been reached earlier. Trump's remarks appear to align with narratives propagated by Russia, which question the legitimacy of Zelenskyy and his ability to engage in negotiations.

When reporters questioned Trump's stance, claiming that Zelenskyy considers him to be on the wrong side of history, Trump dismissed these claims, stating that Zelenskyy does not understand the situation. Trump also criticized Ukraine for not providing the U.S. with anything in return for the financial support it has received from Washington.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy, in an interview with Bloomberg on October 18, alleged that recent actions by the U.S. are pushing Ukraine towards negotiating a deal with Russia. He pointed out the restrictions imposed on Starlink operations and the delays in delivering Patriot air defense missiles, which have been paid for by Ukraine's European allies.
