Workplace tech issues are increasing making us more stressed outside of work
Logitech says that, despite AI and automation, having good hardware to interact with your machine is more important than ever.
A new study by Logitech has highlighted the significant impact of workplace technology on workers' wellbeing both inside and outside the office. Out of the 9,400 respondents and 1,350 IT decision-makers surveyed, eight in ten believe the right technology can make the difference between achieving their goals and failing to do so.
However, the study reveals that nearly two-thirds of workers experience frustration, anxiety, or anger due to technology issues, while three-quarters report physical discomfort such as wrist pain, eye strain, and neck fatigue from their desk setups.
Despite the potential benefits of improved productivity and morale, only a quarter of workers have control over the technology in their office. Just one-fifth of them would maintain their current setup if given the choice, indicating a strong desire for change. The study emphasizes that hardware has become increasingly important, especially among heavy AI users, with 42% of respondents relying on hardware more now than they did five years ago.
This figure rises to 76% among heavy AI users, suggesting that human-machine interaction remains a crucial aspect of productivity.
Logitech asserts that hardware should be considered during the procurement process, not just in terms of cost, security, and technical specifications. The company also acknowledges the impact of hybrid working arrangements and advises employers to take employee experience into account when allocating hardware.
