Indian para-archer Sheetal Devi achieved a historic milestone at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, matching the world record with a score of 704 points. She achieved this feat by hitting 32 perfect Xs and 25 ten-pointers in the women’s compound ranking round. This performance not only equalled the world record set by Phoebe Paterson Pine in August 2024 but also set a new Asian record of 698 points.
Sheetal's accomplishment surpassed her previous Asian record of 698 points, which she set in Bangkok, Thailand, in March of the same year. Earlier, Sheetal had won two gold medals and a silver at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, and went on to secure the women’s individual compound world title in 2025 despite being born without arms due to a rare congenital condition.
