Patriots place Romeo Doubs on injured reserve with a shoulder injury

On Monday, the New England Patriots placed wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury sustained during Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Doubs was injured in the first quarter while making a diving catch in the end zone, where he caught a pass thrown by quarterback Drake Maye. Following the injury, trainers attended to Doubs, who did not return to the game.

Maye expressed regret over his throw, stating he may have made it easier for Doubs to catch the ball. Doubs, who signed a four-year, $70 million deal with the Patriots this offseason, has contributed 14 catches and 261 receiving yards, including three touchdowns. He is expected to miss at least four games.
