NAIROBI, Kenya – Glovo, the online delivery platform, announced that its services helped generate over Sh130 million in sales for local businesses in Nakuru in 2025. To support these entrepreneurs, Glovo recently conducted a 50-partner training session on digital marketing, order fulfillment, and business management – the first time this "Partner Academy" program has been held in Nakuru.
Nakuru has rapidly become Glovo’s fastest-growing market outside Nairobi and Mombasa, hosting more than 110 active businesses selling through its platform. Yvonne Muthoka, Glovo Kenya’s Small and Medium Size Business Lead Category, emphasized that the training aimed to enhance business operations and enable merchants to expand beyond their immediate neighborhoods.
The curriculum focused on optimizing product catalogs, increasing order processing speed, implementing digital marketing strategies, and employing proper packaging to ensure product quality during delivery. One participating restaurant owner highlighted that these lessons would help businesses better understand customer demand, minimize delays, and reach customers who do not visit their physical locations.
Glovo currently partners with more than 6,000 businesses in Kenya, with 80% of these classified as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). These enterprises contribute about 34% of Kenya’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employ approximately 15 million people, and generate nearly 91% of new jobs in the country, according to Glovo’s data.
The company plans to expand the Partner Academy to additional counties in 2027, offering quarterly training sessions to empower local businesses with digital commerce skills.
